More focus more fees
In today’s day and age there are so many distractions that can lead us a stray from what we set out to achieve. In recruitment you have to remain focused otherwise you will find yourself thinking at the end of the day what did I actually achieve today? You can very easily get tied up in setting up interviews, getting availability for interviews, preparing candidates for interviews, writing CV’s and having a general chat with your client. All of these things you have to do but you don’t want your day to be full of them. I think it’s really important to reiterate that you need to remain focused if you want to be a successful Recruiter.
Some of the habits I have started to implement which are really helping me stay focused and on track are as follows;
- Write an Outcome list not a To do list! – By writing what you want to achieve by the end of the day as opposed to a to do list you won’t find yourself doing all of the tasks which you can easily just get ticked off as we have a habit of doing this! So it feels like we have achieved something.
- Deal with the most difficult task first – Prioritise your outcome list with the most difficult at the top, approach this head on and get it done first!
- Close your Linkedin tab! – It’s very easy to find yourself scrolling through your Linkedin Feed; this isn’t going to help you achieve your outcomes. Dedicate 10/20 minutes to just interacting on Linkedin every couple of hours, you will be surprised how much you can do when you are just solely focusing on this!
P.S. If anyone has any other techniques/ habits which help them stay focused then please do share!
